The Office of Steven Spielberg
DreamWorks SKG
Producer of "Schindler's List"

Dear Lia,

Thank you for your recent letter to Steven Spielberg regarding your Bat Mitzvah.

Steven is away from the office for an extended period, but asked me to please extend his warmest wishes, congratulations and a hearty Mazel Tov on this very special occasion. He asked us to pass along that he will be with you in spirit as you carry out one of the great traditions of the Jewish faith.

Your letter revealed a very wise and thoughtful girl. You mentioned that your grandparents were survivors of the Holocaust. How it must comfort and fulfill them to witness your commitment to remember the traditions they fought for with their lives. And those same traditions will fulfill you in your lifetime.

Steven is sure that you and your family will feel very proud as you experience the honor and duty of your big day. A day in which you and he will have shared in these same traditions of Judaism.

Warm Regards,

Kris Kelley
